Mister Pink - The Romany - 10th November 2006
The band is fronted by Simon on vocals and guitar, and he is backed by Billy on drums, and Quinno on bass guitar. Together they play a delicious mixture of styles which is well rehearsed and tight.
Simon enjoys the limelight and starts the show off-stage while Billy and Quinno set up a meaty riff. Simon strolls towards the stage playing his guitar and showing off his bright pink suit and indescribable shoes. His presence is powerful and he is obviously enjoying every minute of it. His vocal ability is tremendous and he has a wide range, it's a great rock voice. As for Simon's guitar playing I personally rate him as one of the best I've ever seen. His riff playing is exquisite and his guitar solo's are just awesome. His amplifier and guitar produce a sound most guitarists would kill for. He is a perfect guitarist. Simon presents the gig in an easy style and is not frightened to interact with the audience. The presentation is svelte and professional.
Billy the drummer plays hard and fast, but for a pleasant change not too loud. Billy has played drums for many top bands and it shows. He works hard with Quinno on bass guitar to provide a solid backing for the band. When the band takes a break, Billy shows he's a musician by multi tasking. He plays electro acoustic guitar and drums simultaneously.
Quinno wears tight leather trousers, a military cap and very dark sunglasses. His bass sound is full and as tight as hell. He plays smoothly and confidently, whether it's rock or funk, and after Billy's guitar and drum rendition, Quinno picks up a guitar and performs a couple of songs superbly.
The band look great, and sound excellent. All in all Mister Pink never fail to entertain and I highly recommend that you see them perform as soon as you can.
